Here is a quick comparison of October 2021 and October 2020 data.

Today I’ll go over the real estate market data for October 2021 and compare it to the same time last year. Things are not as straightforward as they appear.

The number of available homes in October was 14,436. Last year, there were 17,301. That's a 17% decrease.

The number of new listings in October was 10,187. Last year, there were 11,337. That’s a 10% decrease.

The number of homes sold in October was 8,780. Last year, there were 10,026. That's a 13% decrease.

The months of inventory in October was 1.64 months. Last year, it was 1.73 months. That’s a 5% decrease.

We’re still seeing a tightening of the market because we have fewer available homes and fewer homes coming on the market. However, we also have fewer sales happening. It’s still a seller's market with multiple offer situations and high demand.
