Let’s take a look at the numbers from our December 2021 market.

Today we’re talking about the December 2021 real estate market because, man, there have been some changes.

12,176 homes were available on the market compared to 14,170 homes last year. That's a 14% year-over-year decrease in inventory. There were also 7,047 new listings. Last year, we had 7,017 new listings, so there wasn’t much change.

There were 9,299 homes sold this year in December compared to 10,019 homes sold last year, which is a 7% decrease. Months’ worth of inventory went down from 1.41 last year to 1.31 this year, so we saw an 8% decline.

We’re seeing fewer homes for sale. Sales are down too, but there are simply fewer homes available, so that decrease makes sense. The new inventory has remained steady. We’re seeing extremely high demand, and there aren’t enough homes on the market to meet the need. This means that prices are still going up.
