The data changes in the last year show that now is a great time to move.

I haven’t seen numbers like this in a long time—the data for July 2022 is in, and it shows some big changes in our housing market. If you’re buying or selling a home, you will want to know where these numbers show the market is heading.

Here are the four major changes we saw between July 2021 and July 2022:

1. Active listings jumped from 13,611 up to 21,717 

2. New listings increased slightly from 11,200 to 11,482 

3. Sold listings decreased dramatically from 9,142 to 6,172 

4. Months of inventory finally rose from 1.49 to 3.52 

This means that almost 60% more homes are available this year, but almost 33% fewer homes are selling. That has caused over 4,000 homes each week to reduce their prices. 

This is a lot of numbers, so don’t let it overwhelm you! The bottom line is that now is a great time to move because you now have a bigger selection of homes.
